Commissioning
If you are thinking about commissioning wedding rings, an engagement ring or piece of jewellery and would like to chat through the options with Lisa, please give her a call on 07761 469092, or e-mail her at info@treasuredearth.co.uk to make an appointment.
When you meet, you'll discuss any ideas/inspirations you might already have, your preferences for precious metals and gemstones, your budget, who the piece is for and timescales.
If you have any sketches, please bring these along too.
It may be that you've already seen something in Lisa's collections which just needs tweaking (a different type of stone perhaps?).
You may know exactly what you want, or you may be happy to give Lisa some specifics (i.e engagement ring, 18ct gold and platinum, diamond) and ideas and see what she comes up with (either way is perfectly fine). Depending on the piece, Lisa may produce some sketches.
Commissioning a piece can take a while from start to finish, but it is the opportunity to work with a designer maker to create something unique to you. Once a design is agreed and you would like to go ahead, you will be asked to pay a 50% deposit.
The copyright for any design remains with Lisa, as the artist. Your commission will not be replicated unless with your express permission, but other similar designs may result as part of the creative development process. (Further information on commissioning can be found on the Goldsmiths Company website).
Lisa will keep in touch throughout the entire process. Your jewellery will be hand made by Lisa in her own workshop before being sent for hallmarking at the Edinburgh Assay Office.
Your piece will then be sent to you via Royal Mail Special Delivery, or you can collect in person (which is Lisa's preference as she is there to see your reaction to the finished piece and ensure you are entirely happy).
Lisa will also provide advice on cleaning and caring for your new jewellery.
